That last picture depicts the US Navy AEGIS cruiser USS Yorktown and the destroyer O'Bannon in the Russian northern fleet port of Severomorsk in 1992, moored alongside other Russian hardware. Read more about it here .

I realize this I just thought it was a cool picture. Also the typhoon is a rockstar of a plane. I've always wanted to put the engine from a typhoon in a car

It is a cool picture. In the comments section of that Foxtrot Alpha story, I wrote a bit about when ships of the Soviet Navy visited the US back in 1989.

And yes, the Typhoon is amazing. Much cooler than the new Eurofighter Typhoon. Jets are neat, but there's nothing like the roar of those old prop jobs.
